Ingram Micro Mobilizes Hurricane Relief Efforts

Ingram Micro has assembled a cross-functional hurricane support team from sales, credit, operations and manufacturer management to help customers affected by Hurricane Katrina's devastation in the Gulf Coast. Our government sales team has identified key FEMA solution providers and is using the company's established DPAS system to bring high-priority orders to the top of the queue, allocating product to critical hurricane recovery support. In addition, members of our VentureTech Network and the Ingram Micro Services Network are reaching out to assist other members with additional staff, technical expertise and services to their end users outside the affected areas.

Specifically, here are some ways Ingram Micro is planning to assist customers:

  • Individual Service: Our hurricane support and sales teams are collaborating to deliver one-on-one support for customers; team members receive daily updates on customer needs.
  • Credit: Customers in affected areas are eligible for flexible credit terms, if required; we've also established a process to prevent potential fraud on accounts serviced in these areas.
  • Transportation and Logistics: We are regularly communicating the transportation availability of our carriers (FedEx, UPS, Watkins, Saia, Eagle, AIT and others) to customers in the affected areas; in addition, our distribution
    centers can function 24/7 if necessary and our operations teams can coordinate direct runs of product to customers in need.
  • Product Inventory: Our manufacturer management team will coordinate with sales, operations and our manufacturer partners to ensure product is available and distribution is prioritized in concert with FEMA efforts and according to the needs of the most adversely affected customers.
  • Extended Hours: Our field sales team will be accessible and our call centers will be operational beyond standard service hours, if necessary.
  • Ingram Micro Services Network (IMSN): IMSN can be deployed at any time to assist affected customers with their business recovery or with their end-user customers. Service providers have expertise in IT infrastructure, networking, storage, security, telephony and wireless solutions. Customers who qualify for hurricane relief efforts are eligible to have their Ingram Micro fees waived for network dispatch services.

Our hurricane support team will be monitoring the situation in the Gulf States region and will activate the measures described above or identify new services to assist customers with business recovery.
